Default Slipstreaming XP with latest updates, before support is finished

I am happy with XP and I would like to have a CD with SP3 and all the
latest updates on it before support ceases.

Background: I have an SP2 CD with valid activation key, and I have
downloaded the SP3 update. I find several articles with slipstreaming
instructions for integrating these two, but they all burn the CD before
integrating the updates.

My questions: Am I hoping for something that is not practically
achievable? Or is there a better way to achieve my goal?
How would you do it?

Thank you very much, in advance

I don't remember that burn the CD *before* integrating the drivers,
service packs, and other updates. That defeats the point. With nLite,
for example, you EXTRACT from the install CD which copies the files onto
your hard disk, the updates get integrated into those folders on your
hard disk, and then you burn the modify image onto the disc. It's been
awhile since I last used nLite but suspect it probably only automates
the process of integration with regards to service packs and drivers
(although you can manually add any folders and files in them that you
want in the hard disk image).

How many XP hosts are you setting up? Seems that nLite to integrate the
drivers and service packs into an image that you then burn onto a CD and
then using a CD or USB drive to install the updates collected by
WSUSoffline would work very well for a single XP host or even for
several of them.

Try these...

Thank you very much, Vanguard and Gargoyle for your links. I have studied
all of them. I still need to study more, but my interpretation is that the
nLite approach permits inclusion of the hotfix updates within the final ROM
burn, whereas the PCMag approach does not.

IOW,
PCMag = XP + SP3,
nlite = XP + SP3 + hotfix updates + drivers.

Please correct me if I am wrong. (I hope my terminology is correct.)

Thanks again,
