Default Using a Relative's Westel 7500 DSL Modem/Router

I would say, give it a try :-) Should work. You'll need
to enter the VCI:VPI if appropriate, the PPP username and
account info. The phone company has the physical
association (the phone line coming into the CO),
as proof ADSL is authorized. They have your username/password
as well as the line number, to prove it is you.

Hi Paul,

I saved your reply/information.

Note: I have Verizon DSL and I do not pay a monthly rental fee
for the modem. My DSL service cost me $20.00 a month.
I have the cheaper DSL service.

For now, my DSL modem is fine (so far).

I replaced the power adapter with one of my own that has better voltage
regulation and better filtering. The Westel power adapter is small.

If the problem happens again, I will try the other modem and follow
your procedure.

Thanks again, John
