Default DSL on two machines from one modem?

Can I connect DSL from a single DSL modem to two or more XP machines both
on line?

TIA

Does this DSL modem also perform the functions of a router? If it does,
and you know how to configure it, all you need is a network switch.

Otherwise, you'll need a router. These days, they're usually sold as
combination routers and WiFi access points.

It has four output connections so I assume it has one built in? It's a
CenturyLink C1000A.

That is a router and switch. You can connect as many as you like
(adding more switches when you get over 4). I have about 14 things
connected to mine (wired), until the grand kids get here, then it goes
up quite a bit when the WiFi kicks in.

Looks like the full name is CenturyLink Actiontec C100A. I found a
picture at:

The 4 yellow-colored ports are for CAT-5 Ethernet wired connections to
your intranet hosts. If you have more than 4 computers, you can connect
on of those Ethernet port to a switch or router (which has a switch but
can do more and priced the same). And here is their support page:

The Downloads link gets you to their online manual (a PDF file so it
might load in the web browser or to a file on your computer depending on
if you have your web browser configured for PDF handling or not).
