Default Mouse question

Has anyone actually looked into a mouse and established the spec?
Specifically, how many slots in the wheel go by for a full screen move
of the cursor at various settings in the GUI, (round numbers)

I am trying to integrate a BowFlex with a PC via the mouse port and I
am trying to get close on how many slots I need on the disk that I put
on the main pulleys. I understand I will still need a way to stop the
pulses to get the effect of picking up the mouse and recentering (a
switch in the IR circuit) but I was just trying to get a head start on
the speed.

While I have never counted the slots, I periodically take my 6 or 8 apart
for internal cleaning and they are all different slot number wise.
Some have very few, comparatively, and some quite a lot.
I'd say anywhere from 50 to 100.
Most have single slot sensors and some have dual sensors.
Your best bet is to count yours and make the BowFlex the same.

I have to believe the interrupt count is similar even though the ball
size and the shaft size varies. insert joke here ;-)

I guess I will just have to do some trial and error testing. I was
hoping there was a standard somewhere. I have had no joy searching on
it so far tho.
