Default IE Problem

Win XP Pro all updates.

IE 8

I am at a wifi hotspot that only seems to like IE to log in with.

But IE, for some reason, IE has now come up with message saying that I
am working offline, which I never do.

"The webpage is unavailable because you are offline"

Then it says to go to Tools and uncheck Work Offline.
I cannot find that to uncheck. Where is it? Please be specific.

So how do I keep IE from ever going into this mode?

Years working on this laptop and I have never had this problem and have
no idea why it started now.

Help please.

Look for a menu item ? Tools : Work Offline ?

On IE9 and IE10, it's in the File menu. Good of Microsoft
to move stuff around.

Every place I googled it said the Tools menu so I kept looking in the
Tools sub menus, a lot of sub-sub-sub menus.

I have IE 8.0.6001.18702
It is on the File menu. So found it and unchecked it but ...

So why did it turn on? and How to prevent it?

Does it trigger when the network is not working ?

That would be my guess.

Maybe you try to send something, the network is down,
and it flips to offline.
