Hong Kong's depression, and China's jealousy/greed, is spreading to San Francisco & Seattle. Who is our moral guide ? Chairman Xi JinPing, the gangster ? Trump, the deadbeat ? Maybe Elizabeth Warren is right, and we should tax equity, not just real estate assets -- that'd pop a few bubbles. Yeah aure, Rolf all the Democrats are right. The soviet system was the biggest success in the history of Earth and created a utopia that simply by electing Bernie or Warren we can have right here in the old USA. I'm sure there are at least a u=hundred million people here without whom America would be more of a utopia! Vote Democrat this time! I don't think that anyone wants communism.... your argument is strawmant....

"What was it like from your perspective over there?"

I can't say much good about it. But there were no hungry people,
but no rich. You got apartment from state and go to cheap places
on vacancy. Food was very cheap and restaurants, but technical
stuff and cars expensive... all in all if you are satisfied with
being poor, but with shelter and food, it is ok...

Default Pockets of depression, tent cities.

Communist Serbia abused dissenters.

Trump may be our "Deadbeat in Chief" but at least we don't
crack down on dissenters as much as Russian/Chinese gangsters.

America entered a recession August, 2019, I think.
The consumer Price Index _ wildly _ understates
the inflation rate of poor urbanites.

Rent defines the inflation rate for people on fixed incomes,
part-time workers with few benefits, and contractors with no benefits.

At some point, this "stealth" inflation makes it so that
one can no longer pay rent; depression sets in,
and one is removed from society, and placed in a shelter.

For these people, the recession/depression has been
going on for a long, long time -- hard and strong.
Pockets of depression, tent cities.

Hoping to cash in on this misery, Democrats are drooling over Amazon,
imagining different ways to skewer it, for the feast.

A high minimum-wage and high housing standards are snooty;
they remove the lower rungs of the ladder, to keep "undesirables" out.

Default "Soviet" housing and/or "Nazi" police.

You are pretty much living in a communist city now!

In "communist" countries dissidents are squashed,
but housing is free.

Seattle has plenty of dissidents but little housing.

Everything has changed over there... finally, sanity.

Federal, state, and local governments are all
lying about the inflation rate of the urban poor
( where rent exceeds one's income ) -- it's not 1.2%.

Being honest about that would be a good start,
as would "Soviet" housing and/or "Nazi" police.
