Canon BJC-250 USB problem
I recently connected my Canon BJC 250 to one of my USB
slots. XP detected the printer and then I downloaded the latest driver from the Canon page. I printed a test page and it came out OK but the printer kept the print job blocking other print jobs and it wont get cancelled. It does this with every print job and I have to reboot the computer several times before I can clean the print job screen. It seems like it sends the same job three times but it only prints the first one. Printer worked fine when connected to LPT1. |

Canon BJC-250 USB problem
Wrong way round.... install driver BEFORE connecting printer!
Do an uninstall and then reinstall the correct way round! There are three separate steps and all three must be complete for XP to 'see' the new drivers. Disconnect the printer. Go into the Control Panel, Add/Remove programs and uninstall any printer software. Then go to Printers & Faxes and right click and delete your printer. Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer. Go back to Printers & Faxes in the Control Panel and from the toolbar, select File, Server Properties. In the drivers tab, delete all the entries for the printer. Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer. Download a new set of drivers from the printer manufacturer's website Follow the instructions at the printer manufacturer's website and only connect the printer when the software tells you to do so. Canon BJC-250 USB problem
Thanks
I followed all your instructions, it worked better but I still have the problem in which the pages get printed but the print job its still open. Can the printer cable be the problem or is it a USB configuration problem. -----Original Message----- Wrong way round.... install driver BEFORE connecting printer!
