Can u give me instructions on how to fax from my computer What's having a printer got to do with anything? You don't need a printer to fax. I answered an indentical question to this only yesterday (I do so wish people would learn to search the group before posting). You cannot fax from your computer with the current set-up. You don't have a modem (and before you say anything, that thing the cable company calls a modem, isn't, it's a Network Interface Connector to a Wide Area Network - it cannot fax because it doesn't recognise tone pulses. Do you dial a number to connect to the net? No you do not - hence you cannot use it to fax). If you wish to fax you must purchase an analogue, dial-up modem, or use a subscription service such as eFax (which will prove very expensive if you wish do a lot of faxing). I suggest you purchase an analogue modem and hook it up to the phone line in the normal way - you may need a filter to enable you to do this. -- Cassandra Card carrying member of the Fresh Start Club 'The Undead Are People Too!' "Bob DiJoseph" wrote in message ... Hey, the guy just asked a question, there's no need to be so snotty, what are you French? Not everyone can be as brilliant as you, do us all a favor and take a hike. This is no trivial issue. There have been 99 messages and or replies with DSL or cable in the subject since January 1, 2003. There are probably more with these words in the bodies of messages but one would have to open each one to search for them or do a Google search for the words. Most of these messages come from those who use the web-based newsgroups readers who fail to sort the messages by subject and threads. These people are expecting a personal response and do not follow up on their posted messages. I have answered the questions about twenty times. Many times a similar message is just above or just below the message to which I responded. If I can read so can they. I have stopped responding to those messages. I notice that you have not been very prolific in helping anyone. Unless you are a lurker, you are in no position to characterize the responses of those of us who try to help those who ask for help after exhausting all other avenues. -- Earl F. Parrish |

I plonked him (the **** who told me to take a hike, not the OP). Though by 'characterise' do you mean 'chastise'? ;o) Cass -- Cassandra Card carrying member of the Fresh Start Club 'The Undead Are People Too!' Reply address is fake.
