Laserjet Printers
Hi,
I have two HP Laserjet printers (HP4000n & HP1200) each is attached to different types of print servers on my LAN. The HP4000 uses a built-in print server from HP and the HP1200 uses an external print server. I'm using Windows XP Pro; with all svc packs and critical updates installed. My problem is when I print to either one of the printers, the job prints just fine, however, the print job stays in the print queue. If I disconnect from the network and reconnect, then the print job, that stayed in the queue, prints again. I have to go out and manually delete the print job(s) from the queue. I have other printers on the network (Lexmark) and it works fine, with none of the problems as described above. I also have other workstations on the LAN mixed XP Pro and Windows 2000 Pro, none of these computers experience the problem with any printers. I've downloaded and re-installed the drivers from HP for both the PCL6 and PCL5-e formats. Still with the same results. I've contacted HP support and they say that since the printers work well with other similar workstations on the LAN, then it must be something with "Windows". That's what brought me here, can anyone help with this issue. I would certainly appreciate your efforts. Thanks John Daigle |
