Epson Scanner 1200

I just purchased a new hp computer with windows xp. I am
attempting to install my epson 1200 scanner softwear
which I purchased for my previous windows 98. I can't
seem to get this working with xp. Is it or isn't it
compatible? Also installed new driver. Many thanks.
