epson photo 700 problems

Ive upgraded from 98 to xp. Ive tried using the xp driver
for my epson photo 700 and it will print approx half a
page then spit out two or three bank pages then print a
few lines on another page then print out garble. What
should be two or three pages of print ends up with loads
of pages of rubbish. Some of the printing seem to have a
ghost line on the right hand side of the page. This also
happens when using the 2000 drivers.
Any help greatly appreciated.
