Problems printing with changed properties in MS Photo

I'm having problems printing from Microsoft Photo Editor
if I change the properties of the print.

Like this: File-Print-Properties button

If I change to "Print in Black and White" and Landscape,
the printout comes out as portrait, in colour.
If I change to "Media Type: Transparency" the print comes
out on plain white paper.

The only preference that seem to work to set is Landscape
only, that works.

If I change the settings globally for the printer by
right-clicking it in "Printers and faxes" and
choosing "Printing preferences" it works with any
settings I have tried, including those above.

Printing and changing preferences from within the program
works fine from other graphic-viewers, like IrfanView.

So it seems that there is a problem in MS Photo Editor
and passing on preferences in some way. This has been
tested on several computers running Windows XP Pro SP1 so
it's not an isolated issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
