Default GPO Logon Script won't run

We are running Windows XP in our labs. Using the GPO, I
specified a logon script under the Windows Settings. For
some reason, the script never runs at boot up, but if you
do a log off, and then log on again it runs the script.
The script is under the USER section..

Any ideas why this script won't launch at bootup?

thanks

Scripts configured under user configuration run at logon. Scripts
configured under computer configuration run at startup.

Right. But another group of machines I have, if u have
the logon script initiated at the user level, it does run
at startup. where as these dells, once the machine boots
up and logs in, you have to logoff and then logon again
to run the script...
