I'm pretty sure that this list wants to contain
internet 'domain names', not specific node names. For instance if you try to add "support.microsoft.com" to the list, all that appears is "microsoft.com". Is this what you're calling a partial address? If so I'm pretty sure this is the intended functionality. In the example I gave, every web site that ends in "microsoft.com" (such as www.microsoft.com, windows.microsoft.com, msdn.microsoft.com and so on) will be handled with the same privacy rules. Is it causing you problems or were you just perplexed? /dave -----Original Message----- System: hp-pavilion, windows xp home edition oem sp1, Internet Explorer 6.0 All updates current. When I attempt to add a web site using my Per Site Privacy Actions, by either typing or copying and pasting, only a partial address will be added to the list. Any hint as to what could cause this? Regards, dad2ten . |

Dave:
Thank you for replying to my message. That's the way mine are entered also. If I attempt to adjust the setting of the entered item I get the message "improper web address entry". I've done quite a bit of searching and discovered Alexa had hijacked one of MSN'S Short cuts. It has been causing me problems. Especially since Spy-Bot is supposed to be taking care of Alexa for me. I do believe the privacy settings have been tampered with so that their sites could not be blocked. I use that feature occasionally and it wasn't that way before. You can check yours by blocking a known web address and see if you can still get through. If you find out this is true, watch this post and I will let you know what happens.
