Default IE not Installing

I am new to XP. I have IE6 plus no.1 pack on board but everytime I reboot I
get a wizard asking me if I want to continue with the install of IE..
If I press Yes it downloads it all but only gets as far as about 10% on the
install. It then spits me out saying IE is being rejected by Microsoft as
not being an authorised download.
Any ideas/suggestions please.

You need to cancel any install setup from registry, there is no need
to download IE6 (as XP already has it) and its for earlier versions of
Windows. You may need to use RegEdit to see if it runs Setup or
Setupie6 from Run. Try MSCONFIG to see whats loaded at startup.
