Log Error - Can't Find Specified Domain

NEWBIE - I purchased and installed a Volume Licensed
Windows XP Professional operating system without getting
the Administrator's password. I cannot log on.

In Safe Mode, there is an Administrator account and a
user account (no password) I created when I installed the
software. Using tip in another email, I hit
CNTL/ALT/DELETE twice quickly which brought up another
log on screen for the Administrator only and when I hit
enter (no password) I get the error that it cannot find
the Specified Domain. How do I get around this rpoblem?

I probably misunderstood part of your posting, so feel free to correct me if
thats the case, but it sounds like you've not got a proper, legally
licenced, copy of XP. If you are saying this copy of XP installs from the
get go as a member of a domain (which is what your post suggests) then
you've been given a custom build of XP which is intended for some company or
other's internal use only, and is almost certainly only licenced that way
too.

There isn't much you can do, especially if it is a custom build, except ask
whoever sold you this copy of XP for a proper copy instead.
