Windows XP Service Pack 2 - Error after download
I tried to install SP2 from the WindowsUpdate site, and after the download
(or maybe it was near the end of the download), it tells me the installation failed. I tried several times, restarting my computer between each attempt, but the same thing always happened. Because SP2 has only been available on the WindowsUpdate site a couple days, I am assuming there is some small error that Microsoft made in putting it there (since a friend of mine recieved the same problem). Has anyone else been having this problem, or is there something I need to do before performing the download & installation (such as disabling something?) I had the same problem when trying to download and save
the file so i could install on more than 1 machine, but it worked fine to download and install in one go. I hope this helps.
