Default which program is using this file

Hi

Sometimes when I try to delete a .avi or mpg file, windows xp pro
says that it is in use by some other program even though no other program is
running.
this raises an interesting question :
Is there any trick by which I can see if a given file is being used some
program ?
I mean, some trick by which I can see who is using a given file on my pc ?

Its quite easy to do in Linux.

thanks

Hi,

They are probably in WMP's playlist, simply open the media player and delete
the files from the playlist, then you should be able to delete the file
itself.

There is no native utility to watch threads and the processes tied to them.
You will need a third party program, there are plenty available for free on
the net, just search on process watcher.

Do a Google for 'WhoLockMe', it will do what you want and it's free.
