Default OE and forwarding

When I tried to 'forward' a posting, I get a dialog box for "MS Messenger"!
Win98 just used my e-mail settings. Worse, the dialog box gives me
dead-ends, and I cannot complete anything. Is there a setting which will
just use the existing e-mail settings for forwarding newsgroup messages?

TIA,
Craig.

Try the following :-

Go to Start | Run and type the following:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools | Internet Options |
Programs and set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

Kath,

I tried as user, with no result, then as Admin, and then back to user, and
now it works!
Thanks so much,
Craig.
