Default video card optimize

I have a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra. I want to know what settings i should make in
the display properties to optimize my graphics card so i use it to it's max
without damaging it.

I am looking at buying a Geforce card. For my HP pavilion. Could you maybe
tell me if they ae compatiable with HP?

If you buy a compatible Geforce card yes. Ask the place you plan on
buying it from and include the HP pavilion model number when you ask.
