Default wireless intellimouse explorer setup

everything works perfects with my mouse except the setup program. I cannot
assign any buttons. I am using ver.5.2

mine is wireless intellimouse explorer not 2.0 and this is not listed in the
selectable mouse list. I think this product is discontinued.

I think my problem is explained here.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;281305 (But this site
is for WinMe and does not solve my problem.)

please help on this.
