Help with recording shows

I remember seeing in an earlier post that guide recording
starts 2-3 mins early and ends 2-3 mins late. This is not problem, except
when you want to tape 2 shows consectutively. I keep getting the time
conflict error, so I switched to manual recording, but MMC still will not
overlap times and I miss the ending of shows. HP 370n mce2004.

Any help with this is appreciated.
