Default Slow shutdown

Often when I try to shut down it is very slow, or I have to do an 'illegal'.
I always close programmes first. What am I missing?

Take a look here. First thing I always think of is if you have Clear
Page File on shutdown set to enable.

Well I read the whole page. I only jumped in here hoping to find out just how
long it should take to shutdown. I can go Nuke a cuppa coffee in the time it
takes to reboot or shutdown with time left over.

If you have too mny services runing, the system will try to close them
first.
Also depending on your computer, it you are on a domain and are using a
roaming profile, your profile will have to move back to the server.
