Add Software icon
I'm not sure how, but I have lost the icon for adding and removing software.
I may have accidentally deleted it. As a workaround, I can reach it through Help & Support, but how do I get the icon back in its proper place? Thanks. --Jon |

Most software comes with its own setup executables and doesn't require you to go through the Add/Remove Programs control panel. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

Add Software icon
Did you accidently tell Control Panel not to load/show Add/Remove Programs?
What to check: 1. Open Registry 2. Got to registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load 3. Check if appwiz.cpl is listed on right with value of: no 4. If so, delete the appwiz.cpl item See if that works. This can also done thru TweakUI XP "Nospam" wrote in message ... I'm not sure how, but I have lost the icon for adding and removing software. Also, are you an Administrator?
Has anyone applied a Group Policy and turned off access to Add/Remove Programs for you? "Nospam" wrote in message ... I'm not sure how, but I have lost the icon for adding and removing software.
