Default XP Printing

I have a laptop that is printing to a networked hp deskjet 612c printer. When
I send a printer job on ms word or even notepad the font is changed and the
size of the font is changed also. The document is written in new courier or
new times roman and when printed it comes out very close together like on the
top third of a page and I am not sure why. I can print a test page just fine
with normal printing. Three other laptops print to this printer fine. I have
also tried to uninstall/reinstall printer, tried resetting ms word defaults
through the repair function in help. CPU is patched fully. Is there an xp
setting that has been changed or what?
