Default sp1 or sp2

hi:

i am thinking about reinstalling xp on my laptop. with the options of sp1
and sp2, could i only install sp2 only? i assume sp2 covers whatever sp1 is
trying to do.

Default sp1 or sp2

SP2 includes SP1 updates so it is unnecessary to install SP1, just install
SP2 and subsequent security updates from the Windows Update site.

Note: Do not install drivers from the Windows Update site, get driver
updates from the vendor's site.

There is absolutely no need to install SP1 prior to installing SP2;
Microsoft's service packs are cumulative.
