Default Mouse problems

I have an AOpen small mouse for my laptop, and lately, it seems to hang all the time when I move the mouse.

I am using a PCMIA USB 2.0 port for the mouse, and I suspected it was going bad, so I plugged the mouse into
the USB port on the back of the laptop, and the same thing occurs.

So it sounds like some program or driver is causing this.

How do I determine what is causing the problem?

Here is a snap shot of what I get all the time. I have to unplug and plug it back it, and then it works for awhile.

Actually, is was fixed for a day or so, but it occurring again.

My mouse will move, then freeze, the move again, and freeze, and is a major pain.

I've removed the drivers from "Add/Remove" and also from the Hardware section of "My Computer" but it reinstalled the
Microsoft driver, and is doing it again.

How can I solve this? It's a major pain.

Buy a new mouse. Make sure that the power on the USB port
is set to remain ON.

I cleaned the bottom of the mouse, it's a laser mouse, and it's working now.

Thanks for your input.
