Default CD/DVD drives not showing

Hello, I am running Windows 2000 Pro and for some reason my internal CD-RW
and DVD-R drives are not showing up with drive letters in Explore or My
Computer. Hardware diagnostics have been performed to confirm that the
hardware itself appears fine (and the drives do show up ok in Device
Manager). I also tried connecting an external USB CD-RW drive, but the same
problem occurs. Aside from a possible DMA setting causing conflicts, what
other cause could there be for this problem? Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Regards,

Randy
