Default USB to LPT

I have a Toshiba satellite A100-233 note book
I want to connect to it an EEPROM, EPROM and a microcontroller programmer
from ELNEC (SMARTPROG)
So I purchase a USB to parallel cable converter, when I connect it, the
windows XP recognize the device automatically as a “USB printing support”
but what I need is a virtual parallel port LPT ( like a virtual serial port
which is worked for me), since the programmer setting only allow me to chose
the parallel LPT port.

Thanks for helping

I think that instead of using an adapter, you'd be better off with a pc
card parallel port controller:

I haven't ever used anything like this so I can't tell you how good they
are.
