Default Firewall blocking Messenging in XP

I cannot receive instant messages from an internet site. I have allowed
popups from the site, so I believe it's the firewall that blocks them....a
window will pop up that someone wishes to contact me, but there is no message
in it.

The site does not have a downloadable messenger program (ala AOL, Yahoo) so
I don't know how to "allow" these messages.

Open xp firewall,exceptions,add program,browse the list for the service
and add it,close out firewall.

hi all u have to do is go to control panel/firewall/exceptions tab u will
also see other programmes that are alowed like i/explorer etc, now tick add
programme then a list comes up ,scroll untill u see it , just click on what u
want to come through the fire wall ok mate , let me know how u go on
my email i am only good at the basics, by ray

To whom are you speaking? Please quote at least some of the previous
post(s) for clarity. Also, please type in mixed case and lose the
