Does Windows XP Home Edition contain Excel, Powerpoint? No. Neither Windows XP, nor any other version of Windows, has ever included Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, or any other significant application software. Such programs have to be bought, either by themselves or as part of Microsoft Office. If your previous computer, running an older version of Windows, came with one or more of these, it was because the vendor who sold it bundled them as part of the package he sold you, not because that version of Windows came with them. Some, but not all, vendors do the same with Windows XP. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

that are not necessarily trial versions. I have not seen product from any OEM in the last 5 years with anything but a
trial version installed. With prices points so low on the hardware, no OEM on the retail shelf can afford to include any part of Office. That said, I do not know if any on-line only vendors offer models that ship with an OEM version of Windows, but it would certainly increase the price of the units dramatically. Dell offers the option of having the OEM version loaded *As a value added
option*. This means it costs more and the customer must request it. Why are you beleaguering this? And my point was in regards to product on the retail shelf (Dell does not apply). Not beleaguering this at all. Just trying to supply some additional

Again, no trolling involved.
The OP asked about a retail product. Answers supplied were both accurate and applicable. Dell offers and upgrade for the OEM version on some of their models, but they are neither retail nor are they free upgrades. Bobby "Tom Willett" wrote in message ... Not beleaguering this at all.
