Have you contacted your ISP/Mail Provider as you were told, to get the
appropriate information?

| I made it, Phil. Now, how do I cross-post? I read someone's
| instructions on that but I'm a blind user and could not see the images
| described.
_____

To crosspost, add the extra newsgroups in the 'Newsgroups:' line of the
message window. Separate newsgroup names with commas.
For example: microsoft.public.security.virus,
alt.comp.hardware.overclocking, alt.comp.anti-virus

Only crosspost to related newsgroups, and try to keep the number below four.

Your ISP has a name and a webpage. On their webpage they
will have a FAQ, HELP or setup page. You will find
instructions for setting up the email service.

This is what I have on my ISP, Cox cable...
Email Server News Server
POP Server: pop.central.cox.net
SMTP Server: smtp.central.cox.net
news.central.cox.net

Your ISP probably has a telephone help line. They have a
webpage, YOU need to do a little research on your own.

Click on the word newsgroups at the top and add the other newsgroups.

Or, type a comma and then the name of another newsgroup.

Don't do a lot of this or you'll get ignored. Normally posting in one
newsgroup is plenty.

You are shouting again.

As has been posted before, the names you need to enter to set up Outlook
Express for email and Usenet newsgroup access you MUST get from your ISP
that provides you Internet access.

#1. Start Outlook Express and left click on 'Help'

#2. Read the 'Getting started with Outlook Express' contents, which include

" You will need the following information from your Internet service
provider (ISP) or local area network (LAN) administrator:
a.. To add an e-mail account, you need your account name and password, and
the names of your incoming and outgoing e-mail servers.
b.. To add a newsgroup, you need the name of the news server you want to
connect to and, if required, your account name and password. "
#3. You should already know your ISP account name and password (otherwise
you could not use the Internet).

#4. The name of the incoming and outgoing email servers you MUST get from
you ISP. My email server names are NOT the same as yours. No one else here
knows the name of these servers unless they happen to have the same ISP as
you do.

#5. The name of the news server you MUST get from your ISP. My news server
name is NOT the same as yours. No one else her knows the name of these
servers unless they happen to have the same ISP as you do.

#6. There are a few other settings your ISP may require, and ONLY your ISP
knows what those additional settings are.

Once your ISP helps you set up Outlook Express correctly (it should take
less than two minutes), it is very likely that you will never have to use
the server names again.

I'll give this a whack since I just put in new identities because my OE
corrupted.

If you have msnews.com in your News Accounts then it should be on the bottom
of your OE folder list. Then you click on it and you'll get a list of MS ngs
to join...look for microsoft.public. and then the one with oe in the last
part...Then click, Join, and OK, and it will upload the newsgroup messages
for you.

RA its "msnews.microsoft.com" that you must put in the New News Account.
Also, your ISP or DSL, etc has to give your their login...like
"news.junior.com" to created a new News Account with first. It should be on
their website, or call their toll free #.
