Default Found New Hardware message keeps appearing every 30 seconds

We have a Canon printer MP360. The printer was just additionally installed
onto our IBM Thinkpad laptop using software downloaded off the Canon website.
While the printer is working from the laptop the 'found new hardware' bubble
keeps appearing every 30 seconds and interrupting the program (eg. pausing
your typing). Very frustrating! Does anyone know how we can stop this from
happening?

Did you install the software BEFORE you connected the printer to the
notebook? If not, uninstall and reinstalling.
