Default Printing causes programs to "encounter problem"

I recenty added a second laptop to my home network. The first laptop prints
to the HP Officejet 4215 with no problems. The second laptop did not
recognize the MSHOME workgroup until I (after much searching on the net for
answers) I re-configured the Norton firewall. I thought the problem was
fixed. I ran the "add printer wizzard" the new laptop was able to see the HP
Officejet on the workgroup, and all seemed fine. Tried to print a test page
to check everything and Windows Explorer "encountered a problem window
appeared. I tried printing a MS Word document and the same thing happened.
Anyone have a fix to this problem?

Default Printing causes programs to "encounter problem"

Does it print correctly if you disable the firewall?

I'll try that. But, basically whatever program I'm running (Word,
IE-7,etc) locks-up, there is no printer out-put, and I have to "CTRL-Alt-Del"
to get the laptop to return to normal operating state. I'don't know if it is
a network issue (but I don't think so since re-configuring the Norton allowed
the laptop to connect to the MSHOME workgroup) or software/program related
issue.

Most likely the driver is corrupting the memory of the application and
causes the application to fail.

If you installed the device using software that came with the product you
might want to install the corporate bundle released in 10/2006.

Default Printing causes programs to "encounter problem"

OK. I have the old HP driver (I think it's version 2.240.0.0?) installed on
the desktop and that is working just fine with the desktop and 1st laptop. I
can print over the wireless network from the 1st laptop.

I down-loaded and installed the HP driver (corporate bundle) for the HP
Officejet 4215xi to the new (2nd) laptop. That didn't help, the 2nd laptop
still locks-up any program that I try to print (even the test page!). I
deleted the drivers and all printers from the new laptop, thinking that
starting over will help. Now when I run the "add printer wizard" it tells
me that the "server for the HP 4215xi does not have the driver correct
printer driver installed" Excuse my language, but WTF? The old driver works
just fine with my other laptop! I affraid to load the new driver to the
desktop, fearing that will screw everything up.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions/ solutions that you can provide.
