Disable share GUI while keeping File and printer sharing
Hi,
I have a "kiosk" machine that runs on XP SP2. It must have File and Printer Service. The logged user is an admin. I want to somehow not allow him to add shares on folders/drives or if its impossible to know that he did. any ideas? |

Disable share GUI while keeping File and printer sharing
I take it the kiosk machine needs to access shares, not supply them? In that
case, disable the Server service. This will also prevent users from browsiing the network. MyLogon's kiosk mode might be of some help here. This runs a single app without any desktop. If the user closes the app, the machine reboots. ------------------------------- An alternative Network-Logon for Windows: http://mylogon.net Say No to Preinstalled Junk:http://genuinewindows.co.uk " wrote: I have a "kiosk" machine that runs on XP SP2.
