Auto update problem
When Autoupdate is enabled there are multiple DCOM errors in the event
viewer. When disabled I get the following error message "The Automatic updates service failed to start due to the following error: The executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement the service" I went to the recommended MS site, but could not understand the fix given. Can anyone please help Win XP Home SP2 TIA Teriel9 -- All our emails are scanned by Norton Antivirus before sending Please advise any virus that gets through |

That's just a redirect link ... i.e. it goes through MS servers but does
not contain a URL. Was it this convoluted fix ?: How to resolve problems that occur with the JET component and with the MDAC component http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870630 The DCOM errors *may* be a result of misconfigured services or a firewall. Please go to Start Run type in %windir%\windowsupdate.log Post the last 40 or so lines of the log.
