Default install software on XP?

Tried installing SEGA Sonic Heroes on our Home XP - I have Comuter Admin
privs - but after (what appeared to be a faultless install) it asked for me
to be logged on as PC Admin!

hi,
i'm new to xp and i had a question: when i install software on XP, should i
install that as the admin or as a user?
i usually always login as the user. never as the admin. but i read somewhere
you sometimes have to install software as the admin.
this is not really in regards to a specific software program, more like a
general question.
tks ,will

I've been a computer & XP user for a year now (to the month) and I
have never run across a program that mentioned anything about
installing as the admin, nor have I ever heard of one that required
it.. However I am the only user of this computer, & I believe my
account has all of the admin privileges. Because I am the only user,
I don't have to get a screen to click on my account to log in.

Hi,

To do that on a WinXP Home system, you must restart in Safe mode. The
administrator account is not available in normal mode in a Home system.

How to start in Safe mode:
