Default Dropbox problem on a PC? Dropbox problem on a PC?

Helping fix a friend's laptop, running Windows 10. She has a Dropbox
account, which backs up her phone pix and videos. When trying to access
the same Dropbox from her laptop, whenever you click on any file it
comes up with an error: "The object invoked has disconnected from its
clients". I looked up this error, it seems to show up for many programs,
but nothing specifically for Dropbox. Files are completely accessible
through her phone. Any idea what it's about, and how to fix?

MOAB (Mother of all bombs) must have damaged the connection. Have you
asked POTUS why he decided to bomb your brothers in Taliban caves? Also
tell him that the MOAB's shrapnel has damaged your internet connection.
See what his response is and tell us here.

The hits I could see, were mostly for Microsoft Office.

But I did see one entry, where VSS was involved. VSS is used
for backups, maybe File History in certain circumstances, and
so on. Perhaps have a look for any software that involves
backups or the like ?

The "vssadmin list writers" can show whether the last
thing to use a writer, was throwing errors or not. You
run that as Administrator.

Yes, same here, often VBA stuff too.

Worth looking into. I'm not sure when I'm going to see them again, so
hopefully I can remember this for the next time. Thanks.
