Default Microsoft VM

-----Original Message-----
I have 2 questions to be answered. My computer downloads
updates automatically from the internet. Then my computer
attempts to install them, and I'll get this message
halfway through the installation that says, "This setup
will only upgrade over an existing version of the
Microsoft VM." 1) What is Microsoft VM and what does
this message mean? Also, when I check my "installation
history" on the Windows Update page, it tells me that
some updates have failed to install properly, yet it also
confirms that these same updates were installed
successfully days ago. 2) Certain updates were already
successfully installed days ago, so why is Windows trying
to reinstall them all again, yet this time they fail to
install properly.
.
That VM is the java virtual machine, and windows updates

will need you to have that installed first, before any
updates for it can be put in. Check this site for help;
