Keyboard stopped working!

Hi all thanks for your help...my kb just randomly stopped working. keys bad but trackpad OK. have tried all can think of and am using on screen kb -- please help!

system restore unavailable as it was turned off...

Go to Device manager, uninstall the keyboard driver, reboot and let
windows install the driver.

Can you boot in safe mode by pressing F8 during boot?
If so, try to do a system restore to before the problem appeared.

Are the keyboard cables OK and plugged correctly?

If you have a spare keyboard, try swapping it and seeing if it works
with the other one.

thanks all...i actually have a laptop and its keyboard is not fxnal...

This is my first time here. I am having aa terrible time with my keyboaard.
It is suddenly repeaating chaaraacters. See? I just instaalled XP. Is that
the problem? Howw do I stoop this? I did read the other posts and went to see
if I had anything disabled or anything like it. NOT. What to do. Caan you
help me?

Can anyone hear me screaming? I am aabout to barf. After instaalling xp, my
keyboaard staarted adding letters. Looks like I am a lousy speller. Doesn't
happen all the time. Can you help?

I guess I don't know how to use this site. I haavee written several times and
have had no response. See what is happening with my keyboard? Aadding
letters? Thiss all staarted with XP Any help out there? What to do about

My, my, we can't have that, can we - even though it's only a volunteer NG &
no-one's obliged to answer.

Go to Control Panel / Keyboard, & fiddle with the three adjustable settings
there to see if it helps.
(I DO suppose you've borrowed another keyboard since your first post on the
26th. to see if it still does the same thing???

open device manager and see if the keyboard driver has an error, right click
on it and choose delete then choose "Scan for hardware changes" under the
action menu and that may work.
