no audio
no audio when on internet or certain cd's. Will play sound through media
player.

On certain Cds? That may mean that the format of the music is not accepted
by WMP. You can change that here. If you're on WMP10, ToolsOptions click the File Types tab and check all. Click Apply and OK. It could be as Byte said, a missing codec, or you may have play only digital
