Default Explorer crashes accessing shared folders

I have set up a home network with two machines running XP
Professional. Service packs and patches are all current.
I have a standard hub connecting the PC's with a router
connecting the network to a cable modem.

Whenever I try to access the SharedDocs subfolders
remotely, I get an access denied message. (no problem
accessing the parent folder) When I check the subfolders
locally, they are indeed set to "do not share this
folder." When I try to change this property, Explorer
crashes and sends off an error report to MS. The
SharedDocs folder and subfolders were created by the Home
Networking Wizard. I do not have this problem whenever I
create folders and subfolders for sharing myself versus
the wizard.

Any ideas?
