Default HI-SPEED USB Device Plugged into non-HI-SPEED USB Hub

Hi, what is a USB 2.0 cable? Supposed to be all the same. Unless you have to
use a better cable.

Well, the error started again, so apparently it is not the cable...I do

not
know where to go from here!

Well, it appears that the USB cable that was supplied with the scanner

was
NOT USB 2.0. I went out and purchased a USB 2.0 cable and it works

fine.
I
spoke with HP, and they just said they would send me a cable at no

cost.
I
said "shouldn't a USB 2.0 scanner come with a USB 2.0 cable?" They

had
no
answer.

I have a System running Windows XP Pro with all patches and updates
applied.
The motherboard is an ASUS P4S8X. It has USB 2.0 ports. When I try

to
update the drivers for the USB, it says that the drivers are already
installed. The problem is when I plug in a USB 2.0 device I get the
message"HI-SPEED USB Device Plugged into non-HI-SPEED USB Hub"
I have tried updating the drivers as stated above but it keeps

telling
me
that they are already there.

Any suggestions?

Yes,go to your device manager. then hilight your usb 2.0 (enhanced

usb controller), right click onto properties/
advanced tab, then check the Dont tell me about usb errors box. The

message will at least be gone
