Default Registry editing

When I try to edit the rigistry I get error message "
Registry editing has been disabled by your
administrator ".
How do I enable this, as I am the administrator?

Jack,

Click Start, Run and type the following command (copy and paste it):

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System =
/v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

(Line may be wrapped)

-or-

Use this script and remove the Registry restrictions:
