Default LOGIN .EXE PROBLEM/50% CPU USAGE

Hello..I have searched high and low for a solution for this and I can't find
anything about this issue..If someone can help PLEASE DO....I have noticed
via task manager that the login .exe service that runs on my pc has recently
went from 3-5% cpu usage up to 50% continuously and this has really afected
my perfomance on any thing I do...this has never been a issue before until
recently...I recently updated to SP 3 on my XP system and I don't know if
that's doing it or not... I don't have a virus or what not...I have stuff for
that and I'm good in that department..If someone can advise me here please
do.....THANX

Neither of my systems have such a program. Searching the internet for
login.exe shows references to the MS version of the program, but it was last
released for Winnt 3.5.
I also found references to a program with the same name associated with
Novell Net Ware.
However, your experience suggests a program that is searching for a
non-existent resource. Perhaps Process Explorer would give more complete
details.
Perhaps you could explain why your system has a program named Login.exe
residing in it. Login.exe might be malware.

I'm sorry I just realized I misspelled Login.exe... It is Logon.exe.... And
as far as malware I have software for that too...The login exe has always
been an active process for me....Just now it has really jumped to a cpu hog
rate ...so to speak.

Get David Lipman's Multi_AV program. It contains 4 difference AV programs
which combine to find more malware than any single one.
