Default using emachine restore cd on Windows XP home

I want to format the hard drive on my Windows XP emachine (probably had
spyware or virus). What do I need to do to tell the freshly formated hard
drive to go to D: ?

You need to read the documentation that came with the PC or contact Emachine
tech support for assistance with the recovery process, the procedure is
determined by the PC mfg and has nothing to do with Windows XP.

With HP recovery cds,one cd formatted hd only, option 2,let you formatt &
reinstall OS,other cd had remainder of OS to install.Try booting to cd,see
what
the menu says,or go to mfg web site,or read owners manual...

Don't forget that a format will effectively remove all data, so you should
ensure you have verified backup copies of anything that you want to keep for
your reinstalled system - not forgetting to ensure that it's all
virus-clean, too.
