Media Player 9
After recently doing a Trojan Horse-infection removal
operation, and then updating my XP system with all current security patches ("Hotfixes"), I suddenly find that my desktop Media Player icon (I'm running Media Player 9) will not allow me to call up the media player window on the screen to make selections from; e.g., radio, CD, movie previews, etc.. Ironically, I could do so before removing the infection, and even though now, after the new Hotfix installs, the player itself remains functional when I visit media sites that invoke the player to display news casts, etc. I'm stumped. Hope someone can help cure this. Thank you. MARK |

Media Player 9
Don't know what worm you removed, but it might be well to
consider the Sasser worm. The initial instance of Sasser destroyed Windows Media Player. -----Original Message----- After recently doing a Trojan Horse-infection removal operation, and then updating my XP system with all current security patches ("Hotfixes"), I suddenly find that my desktop Media Player icon (I'm running Media Player 9) will not allow me to call up the media player window on the screen to make selections from; e.g., radio, CD, movie previews, etc..
