It's to prevent Windows 10 from installing.

'583 is GWX, which is part of installing Windows 10 "Free Upgrade".
At least it was, July 29, 2015.

Later, Windows Update was enlisted for the same purpose.

Some of the others, are nominally for the CEIP program.

*******

You can block the attempt to install Win10, with this.

http://blog.ultimateoutsider.com/201...ly-remove.html

(You can also download Win10 media with MediaCreationTool
if you want, and install Win10. And that's really the only
mechanism the company should have been using.)

The CEIP spying, probably isn't focused on selling you stuff,
and no matter what setting is used for it (enabled or disabled),
you'll never really know what is leaving the computer.

All except KB3045999 and KB3035583 are updates for tracking (data collector
for so-called "diagnostic").

KB3045999 is reported as conflict with McAfee product. IMO, safe for those
who don't use McAfee.

KB3035583 is the "Get Windows 10" app.

KB3045999

This one seemed innocent to me, and I installed it on 22 Apr 15.

KB3068708

for upgrading Windows and for telemetry (snooping into your PC)

KB3075249

Microsoft “call home” telemetry (more snooping)

KB3080149

Microsoft “call home” telemetry (yet even more snooping)

KB3035583

for benefit of Microsoft, not user

Pharmaceutical companies claim their drug prices are
so high because they have to recover the costs of developing
those drugs. Two questions:

1. Why is the U.S. paying the entire cost of development while
prices for the same drugs in other nations are much lower?

2. Manufacturers of generic drugs did not have those
development costs. Why are they charging so much for generics?

Only one KB3035583 is necessary to prevent Win10 being offered on a Win7
or Win8 device.
The others are Win10 related but not significant in preventing Win10
being offered on a 7 or 8 device - Only 3035583 is responsible for
offering and making Win10 available.

In fact, a few of those KB's exclusive of 3035583 provide udpated files
that Win7/8x use for other purposes.

i..e. if preventing Win10 is the objective, only 3035583 should be
hidden and not installed or removed if installed.

Just install Windows 10 and you won't see them ever again.

You may not know this like most people here who keep asking why they are
prompted to upgrade their system but people using Windows 7,
windows8/8.1 are entitled to get free upgrades until end of 29th July
2016 or 30th July 2016 depending on where you are in the time-zone.
Always take advantage of free offers as Microsoft is not used to giving
away its software package free of charge.

That's find and dandy but there are folks who do not want Windows 10,
have tried Windows 10, and are looking into Linux.

People who have already looked into Linux have come back to Windows 10.
They say free Windows 10 is better than free Linux trash!!!.

Thanks for the above suggestion, done!

I don't suck dicks never mind small ones. You are on record to tell us
that you have 1/2 a inch dick. Now this is shameful.

Do you want to see mine? I have 6.5 inches long and thick and it can
fill your daughters mouth almost instantly. Send your daughter to me and
we can train her how to go for a real "he" man. she can then come to you
with a report.

You are are a coward loser. Go chop your dick and use it as a door stopper.

I can see you in arguing Troy, arguing that the giant horse was free
so they should wheel it into the city.

Windows 10 is not an upgrade. It's a giant trojan, or a bunch of
trojans. But you go ahead and drink the Kool-Aid.
