SP dial up problem

I have a problem with XP pro. i had to reload the
operating system and now it will not let me configure a
dial up network. After make a connection and hit manual
the dial up option is grayed out. Anyone have a solution.
I don't want to reload the OS. I have tried reloading the
modem driver, XP Pro fix and update.Anyone have a fix?
