Greetings Charlie,

Windows XP Sp2 will be out in a couple of weeks or so. It's already in it's
final stages and Microsoft has just released the RC2 of Service Pack 2.

For more information on Windows Xp SP2 please visit the website below:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...p2preview.mspx

As soon as Service Pack 2 is out, I do recommend everyone upgrading to SP2.
It includes numerous new features (better firewall protection) a number of
updates and fixes.

Thanks,

RC2 has a lot of problems. I hope they fix them all before releasing it.
Two weeks is definitely not enough time to do that.

And you know something that we don't? Where did you find out that it
will be out "...in a couple of weeks or so."

It will be released when MS determines it's ready to be released.
That date is still undecided and could be tomorrow or next year.
Nobody knows!

I believe that is incorrect, but even if it is not it doesn't matter to me.
There are 17 updates I currently have not installed. I can secure my system
without any outside help.

Sure you can. But I bet things run really slowly for you during the DOS
attacks you help in.

Then you must obviously be running Windows 3.1x or your computer is not
connected to the internet.

And you obviously have no clue how to properly secure a computer.

My, aren't we proud of ourselves! It works on Frank's 'test box' so
there are no problems, that ought to be proof enough for anyone.
You remind me of Carey Frisch and the way he posted to newsgroups
a couple of years ago, so keep it up and maybe you too are destined
to be named an MS MVP.

Hello world, Frank says there are no problems with RC2, so the
rest of you must be all wet. But whatever you do Frank, don't read
all 34 pages in this newsgroup, revealing lots of problems with RC2,
or you'll probably end up cutting your wrists:
http://communities.microsoft.com/new...xpsp2&slcid=us

JUDGE NOT LEAST YE BE JUDGED...and what you believe is
not important to anyone but yourself.
